In keeping with the atmosphere of The Merion Cricket Club, members are reminded that appropriate attire is required while on the Club premises. While guidelines are provided below, and are based upon various areas of the Club and grounds, more formal dress is always encouraged. Members are responsible for their own attire as well as that of their guests. Children should be conservatively dressed at all times. The Club’s adult dress code applies to children ages 12 and older. Hats and caps on gentlemen and boys are to be removed upon entering the Clubhouse or when utilizing any of the covered outdoor dining areas.
Men: slacks (khakis and denim) or Bermuda-style shorts and a collared shirt.
Ladies: slacks, capris, skirts, dress shorts, denim, blouses or sweaters.
Sunday Brunch: Upscale Furness dress is required.
White Athletic Attire is permitted in the Porch section of the Cricket Room during all dining hours.
The following are not considered appropriate: cargo pants/shorts, t-shirts, athletic attire except as noted above, sweat pants/shirts, Crocs or sandals/flip flops (men).
The Cricket Room Attire applies to the Cricket Bar except as noted below:
White Athletic Attire is not permitted in the Cricket Bar.
Appropriate attire includes pants or shorts in good condition; men’s shirts must have sleeves, though casual shirts do not require a collar. White Athletic Attire and Club appropriate denim are permitted.
The Furness Room (winter months)
Men: dress slacks and a collared shirt. We encourage men to wear a jacket; however, a tie is optional.
Ladies: business slacks, dress capris, skirts, blouses or sweaters.
The following are not considered appropriate: All athletic attire, all denim, cargo pants/shorts, sneakers
The Furness Porch (summer months)
Men: dress slacks or Bermuda-style shorts and a collared shirt.
We encourage men to wear a jacket; however, a tie is optional.
Ladies: business slacks, dress capris, dress shorts, skirts, blouses or sweaters.
White Athletic Attire is permitted during lunch on the Furness Porch.

The following items are NOT permitted on Club grounds:
Any clothing that is worn, tattered, frayed, patched, discolored or otherwise in disrepair, cut-off shorts, tank tops, or t-shirts with offensive graphics or verbiage. Hats and caps must be worn with the brim facing forward. Athletic hats, caps and visors worn by gentlemen should be removed upon entering the Main Clubhouse and the Dining Rooms. Children’s attire should reflect the same guidelines. To ensure a positive dining experience and to avoid potential issues with attire, The Merion Cricket Club requires that members inform their guests of the Club’s Dress Policy.
Athletic White Attire
"All White" athletic attire is a tradition at Merion. This includes warm-ups and accessories, such as hats, visors, wristbands, headbands and socks. Athletic shoes must be predominantly white.
All logos must be small and discreet.
Eye protection is required at all times on the squash courts.
Hats must be worn with brim facing forward.
Electronic Devices: Please mute all devices. Nonverbal communication permitted.
Exception: White Athletic attire is not required in the Fitness Center or on the Paddle Courts
